Question regarding CST MWS Freq Domain Solver & Tet Mesh
Has anyone else ever experienced a situation where, when attempting to use the frequency domain solver, the "creating tetrahedral mesh" progress bar is all the way to the right, i.e., apparently it's finished,
and in fact it says [100%], yet the program just sits there like that (it's been over an hour) apparently stalled, and the solver never starts? What's the deal with that?
Could be memory issues (my guess is that u r simulating a "large/complicated" model)
Try creating the mesh for a "small" model an see if it happens again.
P.
I wonder though, if the structure, vis-a-vis the various settings, is problematic in some way, wouldn't the program generally give me a hint of some kind? Most of the time it seems to give warnings when something isn't quite right, in my experience.
Anyway, what I don't understand is this: When the program is minimized, the taskbar button says "[100%]". And when I click on the button and open the window, the progress bar for "creating tetrahedral mesh" is all the way to the right, which seems to agree with the message "[100%]". If everything were in order, it seems to me the solver should now start, but it doesn't...the program justs sits there (apparently forever, if left to its own devices). And accorging to Windows "Task Manager", it's hogging the CPU.
So, it seems at the very least, it's lying to me. If it's actually doing something legitimate, the progress bar should not have gone fully to the right in less than a minute, and then just stay buried there for hours at the end of its range, I would think.
I could be wrong, but for now I think it's a bug.
Sounds like a bug.
I'd try to:
1. Reduce the model complexity and re-run. For example, remove some of the solids (even it wouldn't produce the results u want).
2. Re-run on a different computer - Preferably a "stronger" one.
Anyway, it sounds like something you should report to CST team about.

P.
Hello to jpsmith123 !
I have encountered this problem too.
It's happend to me during the Tetrahedral Mash Update.
My model was a big cylinder filled with detailed material.
There was not a problem with the mesh prop. or something like that, its about the software itself.
I ran the model on another computer with the same version of CST 2006 and it worked fine.
I think that my problem with the software is that when I tried to install the latest SP it stoped working and i restored it to the previous version.
Maybe this causes this bug.
About you, if you encountered some trouble with license but somehow succeeded to run it, may be it is what causes you the problem.
Try a fresh and clean Installation.
Hoped It helped,
