Port definition for lambda/2 dipole simulation using CST
Hi,
I would like to simulate lambda/2 dipole in free space using CST.
I have checked the example in the help files of CST. I have question regarding the port definition
If the feed gap is only 0.25 mm, so the cpoints should be:
x1=0 y1=0 z1=0.125
x2=0 y=0 z=-0.125
why he defined two values for X1 and X2 ?
please help?
I checked the model. If you look at History list, port is defined as follows:
With DiscretePort
.Reset
.PortNumber "1"
.Type "SParameter"
.Impedance "65"
.Voltage "1.0"
.Current "1.0"
.Point1 "0", "0", "-d/2"
.Point2 "0", "0", "d/2"
.UsePickedPoints "True"
.LocalCoordinates "False"
.Monitor "True"
.Create
End With
which is as you expected. Don't get fooled by the numbers shown (looks like a bug). It must be due to defining ports by picking face centers.
Since it is disabled and thus do not represent the actual location. Best way of defining this type of port is to pick both the faces and then use the port.
You can see here for your dipole:

Dear all
I have a problem I don't know why stop band creates on high frequency range? another things that sizes are produce large stop band for good SRRs?
what is the meaning of sizes?
is it ring sizes or not?
PS:
A good stop band is needed for sizes are large or not?
