how to plot permittivity, permeabilitty and index "n" with CST2010?
hi
i want to plot a function of frequency of the permittivity, permeabilitty and refraction index "n" of an unit cell with CST microwaves 2010 (see figure below).
i can just represente S11 and S21, impedance Z.
can anyone help me please!
hi
i never done before this but i saw this CST tutorial u can download from attach file
thank you ferdow

this tutorial is very interesting, but it don't presents permittivity and permeability just the S parameters.
hi
read this paper in that shows that formula u need
MICROSTRIP ANTENNA'S GAIN ENHANCEMENT USING LEFT-HANDED METAMATERIAL STRUCTURE
H. A. Majid, M. K. A. Rahim, and T. Masri Progress In Electromagnetics Research M, Vol. 8, 235{247, 2009
i hope it useful for u pls say if useful i like to know about that
my email:ferdows_j@yahoo.com
thank you so much ferdows, i will try to export the S parameters to mathlab and see... thank, i notified your e-mail.
hi
pls send me your result and simulation to i understand more about this
I have a first problem!
The expressions of permittivity and permeability are given by complex S parameters (i think)!
But CST gives S magnetude (linear) and S(dB)!
What's the S paramters that you exported?
i will absolutly send you result... thank you for all
"sorry for my english! i speak french."
hi
CST give u the arg so can design complex S with this two parameter you can see this post in here

hi ferdow
it's really difficult to export complex S parameters from CST, i used finally HFSS because you have possibility to enter equation and obstain all paramaters you need! it's very simple with HFSS
hi mitch
pls email me your hfss simulation.

Hi Mitch81,
I am facing a problem same as u. would you mind to share with me how you solve that problem and what is your finding.
may be you can email me something helpful.
