two components terminology from ADS to CST schemtaics question
Hello , in the left photo i have this ADS diagram with i try to implement in CST design studio. for the transmittion line component which i marked with red arrow
i dont have the E= and the F( frequency ) values as shown in the parameter list of the componnent.
how do we write the E and F in the CST schematics parameters of transmittion line.
another problem is the port component,in CST schematics i dont have any impedance parameter which is marked by the blue arrow.
what is the subtstition that i should use for the port component?
Thanks
If I remember correctly, E is the electrical length which depends on the frequency. So, in ADS you define E and F and in CST you define the physical length, which is correlated to E, f and your substrate. E.g, use linecalc from the ADS toolbox.
in a quadrature coupler we use E=90 which makes sense because the length is lambda/4
but we dont have such parameter in the parralel component of cst schematics at all.
and in the port component i dont have the impedance parameter to define.
Thanks
But you can define the length in CST which is related to the electrical length, frequency and substrate. If you enter in linecalc, frequency, substrate properties and E_Eff, it will calculate the length (L) for you that you can enter in CST!
